The Ibizan Hound is every bit a stereotypical sight hunting hound, meaning it’s liable to run after potential prey and ignore all commands to return home until it’s finished its business. Thin and short-coated with pointed ears, adult Ibizans weigh between 49 and 55 pounds. Their wiry fur is easy to keep clean with simple brushing. Able to run and jump like a deer, the Ibizan Hound is a star in athletic competitions and is always eager for the chance to run and play. Though a little reserved with people, these dogs are friendly with other dogs.

Alaska is home to some of the great natural wonders of the world, and thanks to its dog-friendly culture, you can experience many of them together with your dog! Hike the trails at the Far North Bicentennial Park in Anchorage, or the Tongass National Forest in Juneau. Your dog will also love spending an afternoon at Connor’s Bog Dog Park in Anchorage, or at the Lake Lucille Dog Park in Wasilla. If you haven’t brought your own dog with you on an Alaskan holiday, look into special hiking (or sledding) excursions with cold-weather Huskies!
