When you breed the Pekingese with a Poodle, what you get is a cute little Peekapoo that weighs between four and 20 pounds. Cuddly, loyal and loving, the Peekapoo adores being part of a family and loves being involved in outdoor activities. Very excited to meet new people and play with other dogs, this breed makes visiting friends easy on owners. A devoted watchdog, the Peekapoo tends to be on the barky side—but with good training, that instinct can be managed.

The Pennsylvania state dog is none other than the regal and formidable Great Dane, a dog breed that worked hard alongside its early European settler companions. The state legislature formalized the standing of the state dog in 1965, stating: "...WHEREAS, the physical and other attributes of the Great Dane, to wit: size, strength, beauty, intelligence, tolerance, courage, faithfulness, trustworthiness and stability exemplify those of Pennsylvania.” As for the household dog owners of Pennsylvania, their other favourites include Pit Bulls, Rottweilers and German Shepherds, plus a host of Doodle Dogs. Dog owners in the Keystone State enjoy access to miles and miles of dog-friendly hiking trails.
The Kennel Club of Philadelphia Dog Shows has been an (almost) annual event since 1879.
Pennsylvania allows dogs at more than 50 of its state parks.
