Standard Poodles are excellent house dogs. They are highly intelligent, easy to train, and get along well with children and other pets.
A fully grown Standard Poodle will reach a height of about 15 inches at the shoulder. However, some may grow up to 22 inches tall and weigh between 45 to 70 pounds.
Standard Poodles are considered high maintenance due to their grooming needs. Since they have a curly and thick coat of hair, they require regular grooming and haircuts.
The average lifespan of a Standard Poodle is around 12-15 years. However, some have been known to live up to 18 years with good care and regular veterinary checkups.
The downsides of owning a Standard Poodle may include their high-energy levels requiring regular exercise and their grooming needs. Some may also suffer from genetic health issues like hip dysplasia and progressive retinal atrophy.
Standard Poodles can be expensive due to their purebred status. Additionally, breeders invest significant amounts of time and money into providing healthcare, proper feeding, and socializing of the puppies.
